So I'm starting to think about what to do to celebrate my start of being a 30 gal. I'm leaning towards a family friendly cocktail party, so no alcohol, but yummy yummy fruity cocktails. So having cocktail glasses with noice sugar rims, pretty little island umbrellas. Having little cocktail type edibles. Am loving the thought of having a small chocolate fountain with different fruits to dip.
For decorations (i'm just doing all this in my backyard), i'm picturing a gorgeous pink setting. I want to get hold of these Chinese lanterns in a hot pink and a light pink and string them across my back yard with some fairy lights.
Now question is where the heck to I get hold of these??? Does anyone know?? I really don't want to pay a fortune just for one night decor :( And all the packs that I have found were multi coloured and not pick your own colour. Could I hire them somewhere do you think?? These are from Asianideas.com where I can pick my own colours but they are of course overseas and I would like to try and source them from here first.
Does anyone have anything 'cocktail' that I could borrow for the night?? hehe, espesially if you live around here?Now for my family and friends who are wondering what gifts to buy hehe, I have started a wishlist in my right sidebar ------------------------------------------------------------------>
some of the things there are exxy though so vouchers from those places or family who want to group up and buy me one big present would be noice :) But of course a suprise present is perfect fine and no present at all is perfect too ;)
Still about 2 months to go till my BIG BIG day!!! Eeeek better make the most of my youth haha :)

Klink heerlik - wens ek kon daar wees om dit saam met jou te vier! Maar ek is seker jy sal baie photies opsit sodat ek darem kan sien hoe dit gelyk het, hehe. Geniet die beplanning. En btw, 30 is nie so erg soos wat jy dink nie :P
30 isn't as bad as it sounds. I'm heading towards 40 myself, and even that probably won't be as bad as it sounds either, or maybe I'm just trying to convince myself it won't be LOL.

Jolene you are too funny 30 is not old at all.Love the pic of your mum and baby.Also You can buy those latterns at cheap as chips single ones.They sell the hot pink ones they are $5.00 each.I dont think you have that up there they have those here in Adelaide.I bought some for Mikaylas birthday.They come in bright orange,purple and blue too.

As you may know, or maybe not, I am a wedding decorator and i can get those lanterns for you.
Not as cheap as Kerrys though.....
For a 12" one its $6.50. But it doesn't have a light in it, although i can also get battery operated lights. But these are also available at places like crazy clarks for $2 for 2.

I was looking at those lanterns (and other styles) on ebay! If you could only find white ones, maybe you could spray paint them?

The Chinese shop at the Hyperdome used to sell them in multi-packs (the store isn't there now) so I think any of the 'Chinatown' type Asian shops would have them if you're down on the Gold Coast, and I've seen them in Fortitude Valley too. Or this online store:

I don't know anyone locally with a chocolate fountain - I think the kitchen place up near Harvey Norman hires them out?? I'll help you eat the chocolate once you find one!!
